The southeast side of metro Green Bay continues on its growth spurt as Smet Construction Services broke ground for the newest Buffalo Wild Wings. Work on the national restaurant is underway near Costco Wholesale. The 6,000 square foot restaurant brings its popular chicken-oriented menu and sports-oriented theme to Bellevue, WI.
Joining Buffalo Wild Wings in the same complex is Mattress Firm which is adjacent to other national tenants such as Discount Tire, Starbucks, Cellcom, Great Clips, and Taco Bell. And soon to be under construction is an 180,000 SF Meijer’s grocery store scheduled for 2017.
The chicken-oriented menu coincides with over thirty different kinds of beer and wall-to-wall flat screens that feature most football, baseball, and basketball games as well as special sporting events such as the PGA, the Olympics, and ESPN coverage. A special outdoor patio area will be in place for those wonderful Wisconsin summer days. The restaurant is pushing to make its opening in time for the upcoming NFL football season just around the corner.
Through the years Smet has constructed approximately fifty restaurants. Earlier this year, Smet Construction Services constructed its third sports-themed restaurant known as Anduzzi’s. Other concepts have included: McDonalds, Arby’s Subways, Erberts & Gerbert’s, Jimmy John’s and specialty concepts the like of Kavarna’s, Koko’s, and Fratello’s. We are proud to add Buffalo Wild Wings to this group!
If you have a restaurant project you’d like to get underway, give us a call. Let us put our restaurant expertise to work for you!

A bright spring day was the perfect backdrop for a ribbon cutting that celebrated the grand-opening of the latest Anduzzi’s Sports Club. The ceremony officially marked Anduzzi’s opening its fourth sports-themed restaurant, this one in Kimberly, Wisconsin, the first outside the Green Bay metro area.
The new 12,000 SF restaurant features a state-of art kitchen, a dining area with fireplace, a banquet room with a separate bar for private parties, a game room for all family members and a covered patio with outside bar and fire pit and outdoor heaters. It truly is a fun place to hang out and watch your favorite sports team or celebrate after your local athletic team wins its games! The menu has healthy entrees and salads in addition to its creative array of burgers, fish, fries, and expanded appetizers. Its multiple television screens features the day’s current sporting events, especially Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger games!
Owners Andy and Lisa Szymanski welcomed the crowd to their new restaurant and Andy expressed his gratitude for all the hard work that everyone undertook to get them open. He thanked the village administrator and the village staff for the smooth approval process and for assisting their integration into the community. He thanked Scott Smet, Paul Belschner and the Smet Staff for their hard work and dedication.
When it comes to good times and great food the folks at Anduzzi’s Sports Club know how to deliver! Now Kimberly and North Appleton residents will soon be able to enjoy meeting their friends after a game and enjoy a great meal at a new location under construction in Kimberly.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 28 as the Anduzzi’s Sports Club group officially began construction outside the Green Bay metro area. The event marked the fourth location for the group as they expand their sports themed eateries throughout the Fox Valley.
Paul Belschner, president of Smet Constructions Services, said he was proud that Smet was selected to again construct a third facility for Anduzzi’s. “This is what it’s all about, working with our customers to help them expand their businesses and growing with them to help them succeed.” Belschner said right before the shovels went into the ground.
Andy Szymanski, owner of Anduzzi’s said he was pleased to be working with Smet again as “they build a quality building, a good looking building that works for us. Plus, this location is excellent, close to the neighborhoods and high school, and we expect to fit in well with the neighborhood.”
The new restaurant features a Farm Fresh menu with salads and more healthy choices in addition to its creative array of burgers, fish fries, and expanded appetizers.
The 10,000 SF building will contain a state-of-the art kitchen and its party rooms will be available for sports teams, receptions, family gatherings, and club meetings. Its multiple television screens will feature the day’s current sporting events. And Anduzzi’s continues its tradition as an excellent place to watch your favorite basketball and football teams especially the Green Bay Packer games! Seating capacity is 300.
Through the years Smet Construction Services has constructed over fifty restaurants. The concepts range from fine dining to fast foods and several themed concepts in between. Some of the more recognizable names include: Fratello’s and KoKo’s in the fine dining category to the fast food operators such as McDonald’s, Arby’s, Subway, Erbert & Gerbert’s, and Jimmy John’s. Specialty concepts such as the Kavarna Coffeehouse and Zesty’s are also included. We are especially proud to add Anduzzi’s, a sports-themed operator as a “three-peat” customer.

Just in time for summer! Enjoying a frozen treat just got easier as Zesty’s celebrated the first day of summer by opening its new frozen custard and grill location in Howard, on Green Bay metro’s north side.
After a year of planning, owner’s Ted Zieman and Janelle French opened on the same calendar date that the first Zesty’s store did, 27 years ago in Green Bay. “This is an exciting day, we’re actually celebrating being in business for 27 years and last week we were voted the winner of “Best of the Bay” frozen treat – for three years in a row! Our frozen custard is voted the best, and we are proud to be recognized for it.”
Ted thanked Smet Construction Services for their involvement in the project and Paul Belschner, Smet’s President, thanked everyone for coming out and discussed the sustainability aspect of the project. Prior to this the facility was a Fox Communities Credit Union. “This is just the type of project that Smet is known for, the adaptive re-use of a building and re-purposing to another use. One of the things we pride ourselves in doing at Smet is to re-work these buildings.” Paul said.
Part of the re-working for this facility included new colors and creating a signature epoxy floor that stands up to the tough stains and spills known in custards stores. The floor really ties together the creative color scheme picked out by Smet’s interior designer, Sarah Reese who said, “It’s really bright and fun!”
Howard’s public works Director, Geoff Farr, welcomed Ted and Janelle on behalf of the village of Howard and noted the location across from Bay Port High School and nearby walking trails should be great for business.
So now that summer is here, check out the new colors, and floor at Zesty’s! And don’t forget to cool off with a nice home-made, local frozen treat!
Over the past few years, downtown Green Bay has been fortunate to host the Saturday farmer’s market, the Wednesday evening farmer’s market during the warmer months, and the Bellin New Market farmer’s market inside the KI convention Center during the colder months. All of these events feature locally grown food products that emphasize health and wellness. Many of the products are organically grown.
Often known as “field to fork” food venues, these events contribute to the downtown culture and healthy eating offerings for Green Bay and surrounding residents. Now a new kid on the block will soon join these venues as the Cannery Public Market began its construction next to the recently expanded Titletown Brewery. The Cannery will feature a full sized delicatessen, local cheeses, a variety of meats from local farms, and a variety of wines and other products.
Smet Construction’s project manager, Joash Smits, recently completed the paperwork and design with owner, John Pagel of nearby Luxemburg, WI.
Smits said, “We’ve been working hard on this project this past year and are pleased to be able to get this off the ground, just in time for this year’s growing season.” When the warm weather begins people will be able to buy fresh products every day, not just on Saturdays or Wednesdays.” The Public Market is a perfect mix joining Titletown Brewery in its fresh offerings. Of special note will be its “cheese window” where customers can watch cheese curds being formed and attendants working the cheese vats.
Said Smits, “There’s something here for everyone. I think people are really going to be surprised. We’re hoping the Public Cannery becomes a destination place, a must see place to bring your friends and visitors from out of town.”
The Cannery is expected to open in early June.

When the owner of Zesty’s Frozen Custard and Grill was looking to expand, one of his requests was a unique look for the flooring. He wanted something durable that would hold up to its hard traffic and messy spills during busy weekend shifts, yet something that stood out as a signature, a way that communicated a fun atmosphere that Zesty’s has become known for.
Smet turned to Cemart for its creativity and design. The result? Walla! A signature epoxy floor was created! Kevin Smith, owner of Cemart, has been creating epoxy and decorative stained cement floors for over thirty years. When we caught up with Kevin during one of his busy days, he said, “Our design professional sat down with the owner and discussed the different options. We felt that epoxy was the way to go since it holds up to spills, doesn’t chip, and is the most sanitary product on the market. Plus with the colored chips we were able to create the pink and turquoise color accents that fit the store colors. I think it came out great! The owner has been very pleased and wants us to do other locations.”
Cemart has been creating decorative floors as well countertops for area restaurants for many years now. Their work can be seen in several of the finest restaurants and kitchens throughout northeast Wisconsin. When it comes time for creativity, Smith says, “Every space can be seen as an expression of your creativity! Our artistic backgrounds can help you in designing a unique look that only your business will have.” When it comes time for construction management, the same can be said for Smet Construction Services. Our extensive management backgrounds and experience can help you team up with the best subcontractors in making your project unique to your business.
As for Zesty’s and it’s wonderful new floor? Zesty’s is now open for business at the new location! You can see the unique floor while ordering your favorite yogurt treats at 2639 Lineville Road in Howard.
